Leanna Wells, a native of Brooklyn, New York, joined WTAJ in August 2023 as a multimedia journalist in Altoona. She is thrilled to explore Pennsylvania and learn more about the state.
Leanna is a 2022 graduate of John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where she studied Political Science and Digital Media/Journalism. At John Jay, she was involved in her school’s student-run newspaper as the Editor-in-Chief. She also worked as a Peer Success Coach, working with students to help them identify academic and professional goals.
After graduating, Leanna started working in the NBC Page Program based out of Rockefeller Plaza. There, she had the opportunity to work with the Internship Experience Program, NBC New York, and the TODAY Show. Through the Page Program, Leanna was also able to work on various Late Night shows like, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Amber Ruffin Show, and Saturday Night Live.
In her spare time, Leanna loves to watch game shows, both old and new in addition to getting outside and going for scenic drives.
