UPDATE: Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees has identified the woman fatally struck by a car as 43-year-old Michelle Gilliland of Johnstown. He said the woman had just left the McDonald’s along Scalp Avenue and was heading to a bus stop on the other side of the road when she was hit by a westbound 2007 Jeep Liberty.
It’s reported Gilliland was thrown 60 feet.
East Hills Ambulance transported Gilliland to Conemaugh Memorial ER where she passed away at 9:32 a.m. from blunt force trauma. The death has been ruled accidental.
Richland Township Police, fire and the PSP Reconstruction Team worked with the Cambria County Coroner’s office. Scalp Avenue was closed for several hours and has since reopened.

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A woman has been killed after being struck by a car Tuesday morning on Scalp Avenue, causing the road to be closed off.
According to Cambria County 911, the accident happened at 8:55 a.m. at the 1100 block of Scalp Avenue in Richland. As of 11 a.m., Scalp Avenue between Luther Road and Constable Avenue is closed.
Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees confirmed that a woman was pronounced dead after being taken to Conemaugh Memorial Hospital.
