BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A devastating fire tore its way through multiple buildings in Bedford right before midnight on Monday.

On the night of Feb. 27, firefighters were called to the 100 block of S. Juliana Street after receiving reports of intense flames and heavy smoke that was billowing out of a structure. The fire spread to multiple buildings and destroyed nearby businesses, including an art studio and a gardening shop.

One firefighter from the Shawnee Valley Volunteer Fire Department was injured while battling the blaze.

The owner of Pigeon Art Studios said that most of the artwork is gone and that she’ll miss the uniqueness that the structure had. However, she is hopeful about rebuilding.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
