ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) – A man in Altoona was killed Wednesday afternoon and a suspect is now in custody.
According to Altoona police Sgt. Matt Plummer, officers were called to an apartment on 8th Avenue at 3:49 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, for a reported burglary in process. A tenant of the apartment reported that she found 51-year-old Raymond Oechsle, another occupant of the building, in her apartment on the second floor.
Officers arrived at the scene and attempted to make contact with Oechsle after finding another apartment in the building with signs of forced entry. Officers entered to find a 38-year-old man dead with multiple stab wounds to the face and torso, according to Plummer.
