HUNTINGDON, HUNTINGDON COUNTY – Patrick Cassidy was the recipient of the Teacher of the Month Award for September presented by the Allied Milk Producers and WTAJ. He is a 4th grade teacher at Standing Stone Elementary School in the Huntingdon Area School District.

It was a fun day in Mr. Cassidy’s class when Allied Milk Producers and WTAJ presented him with the award. All the students enjoyed playing “Farm-ly Feud” and learning about dairy farming. The Allied Milk Producer’s even brought their newly named cow, Allie-Moo!

Mr. Cassidy’s students told us about how he helps them read and write and that they really enjoy Free Write Fridays. On Friday, the students are allowed to write about whatever topic or subject they choose. This not only helps the students hone their writing skills, but helps Mr. Cassidy get to know his students.

“Whether it is a two minute or twenty minute conversation, the caring and concern he has for all students shines through every time,” said Principal Kopp about Mr. Cassidy.

Mr. Cassidy was very excited about the award, and said that they all really work as a team at Standing Stone Elementary.

Congratulations Mr. Cassidy!
