Renovations to a student athlete center at Penn State are complete.
The former Greenberg Indoor Sports Complex is now home to the Morgan Academic Center on campus.
It’s a 32,000 square foot building that will be the academic home base for the university’s nearly 800 student athletes. The center includes state-of-the-art technology, classrooms and meeting spaces, as well as a new Student Athlete Welfare and Development Unit.
“It’s all about signaling the commitment, as to what we stand for, what’s important to us,” Director of Athletics Sandy Barbour said. “First and foremost, this is about our current student athletes and what this does, how this enables them, how this helps them in their experience, get the most out of their experience at Penn State.”
The renovation project cost $7.2 million.
