TYRONE, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Backyard Brawl is upon us in an unusual week five spot as the Blair County rivalry between Bellwood-Antis and Tyrone kicks off at 7 p.m.

Bellwood-Antis is looking to reclaim the title after Tyrone took it last season, winning 27-12.

Tyrone wins 34-0 and retains the Backyard Brawl trophy!

FOURTH QUARTER Tyrone 34 Bellwood-Antis 0

The quarter would start out with a Tyrone punt and Bellwood-Antis would start backed up in their own territory.

A few plays later Luckas Walk would come up with a fumble for Tyrone. Walk would try to hit Weaver for another touchdown, but the ball bounced off Weaver’s hands. Walk would eventually find Weaver on 4th and 9 setting up the Golden Eagles on the Blue Devil’s 7. Ronan would punch it in the next play, and extend their lead 34-0.

THIRD QUARTER Tyrone 27 Bellwood-Antis 0

Bellwood-Antis would look to get back on track as they start the second half with the ball. On the second play of the half, the pass Tyler Weston would come up with an interception, setting Tyrone up with the ball in Blue Devil territory.

Two plays later, Weaver would make another great catch, this time for a 28-yard gain setting up the Golden Eagle’s on the 12 of Bellwood-Antis.

Bellwood-Antis’ defense would hold, forcing Tyrone to attempt a field goal, which missed to the left, keeping the score 20-0.

Bellwood would continue their offensive struggles and would be forced to punt again. A few plays later, Dravyn Crowell would make the touchdown catch. The Golden Eagles are now up 27-0.

SECOND QUARTER Tyrone 20 Bellwood-Antis 0

Tyrone would start moving the ball closer to the goal line. Brady Ronan would have a strong run, getting the Golden Eagles a gain of 15 down to the 22. A few plays later on 4th down, Ashton Walk would dive into the endzone for the score. Tyrone leads 7-0.

Tyrone’s next drive would come quickly and they would score even quicker. Andrew Weaver would score a 46 yard catch and run touchdown, putting the Golden Tigers up 20-0 going into half.

Bellwood-Antis would go 3 and out on their next drive, setting the Golden Eagles up around their own 35.

This time Walk would come out with some strong passes, including a dime to Eli Woomer for a 31-yard gain. This set Tyrone up for a touchdown just a play later as Ronan dove into the endzone. The extra point would be no good, but Tyrone extends their lead to 13-0.

FIRST QUARTER Bellwood-Antis 0 Tyrone 0

The first quarter saw just three possessions. Two from Tyrone and one from Bellwood-Antis.

Just a few plays in, Tyrone would fumble giving Bellwood-Antis the ball deep in their territory.

The Blue Devils wouldn’t get on the board though after some strong defense from Tyrone, they would turn the ball over on downs at the 4.

Tyrone would hold onto the ball for a long drive to follow. Eating up the first of the first quarter as they slowly move into Blue Devil territory.
